Adstats: International Ad Forecast
Total adspend, based on 12 key markets, is expected to rise by 5.8% in 2014 to US$400.4bn, according to Warc's latest International Ad Forecast. Of the countries covered, India is expected to record the fastest growth year-on-year of 14%, but should still only take a 1.4% share of total adspend (US$5.6bn). The biggest market, the US, is predicted to account for a 41.8% share of adspend (US$167.4bn) following 5.6% growth this year. Looking at adspend by channel, online is expected to be the dominant medium in six of the 12 markets, taking in excess of 40% of spend in both China and the UK. TV is set to be the biggest channel in a further five countries, while newspapers should take top spot in India.
