The ivory trade is worth $10 billion a year, and records showed it had taken elephants near the tipping point of extinction.

The environmental organisation WildAid created a global movement to end ivory trade by mobilising different wildlife groups worldwide.

The campaign reached two billion people and within 9 months a UN Resolution to close the ivory trade was agreed.
