HARRY GOODMAN, the flamboyant entrepreneur who in 1991 presided over the spectacular crash of International Leisure Group and Air Europe, is to slither back into the travel business partnered by cable and satellite programme distributor Flextech. Early next year the twosome plan to launch the UK’s first TV travel ‘agency’, a dedicated channel enabling viewers to select and directly book the holiday of their choice. The service may be expanded to offer car hire and foreign exchange. Bookings and payment will initially be via telephone and credit card, later upgrading to a full-scale online facility. The collapse of Goodman’s former travel empire left over £500 million in debts and 3,000 job losses.
