Zenith Optimedia Group is preparing to pool the negotiating operations of its constituent agencies, according to chief executive John Perriss.
The media agency holding company, housing the Zenith Media and Optimedia networks, was formed last year and is 75%-owned by Publicis Groupe.
“Phase one of Zenith Optimedia was to sort out the financial reporting systems,” said Perriss. “We’re now nine months down the line and the second phase is about starting to work much closer together in the way the agencies do business in the different countries we operate in.”
Executives from the two networks are discussing how negotiating power can be merged. For example, in the UK Zenith chief Simon Marquis and Optimedia boss Greg Turzynski are deciding the areas of business in which the two can cooperate.
Perriss also hailed the “fantastic contribution” to Zenith Optimedia of its former European ceo Simon Lloyd, who recently left the company.
