New York’s Zenith Media Services has been awarded the $170 million media planning and buying duties for pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough’s Claritin and Nasonex anti-allergy brands.

Zenith ousts sitting shop Lowe Lintas & Partners Worldwide, also in New York, one insider commenting that Lowe had not enjoyed “the most rosy relationship” with its client.

Schering-Plough is also expected to confer on Zenith its Clarinex brand, shortly to succeed Claritin once it has rectified manufacturing concerns raised by the US Food and Drug Administration.
