Yahoo! UK & Ireland has forged a deal with BSkyB to supply Sky Digital’s 5.4 million subscribers with email.
The online giant’s email services will be offered through Sky Active, allowing users to view television programming while writing and sending messages in a separate on-screen box.
Hyped Yahoo!’s marketing manager John Webb: “This deal provides a great opportunity for advertisers to target audiences across both Sky and Yahoo! platforms.”
Sky’s Jon Florsheim was equally effusive: “Offering ISPs and portals on Sky Active builds our interactive services while providing a gateway for people who have yet to experience the benefits of interactivity through the TV.”
