Digital satellite radio operator XM Satellite Radio announced Monday the nationwide roll-out of its subscription radio offering, originally launched in September in Dallas and San Diego [WAMN: 27-Sep-01].

The company is hitting 25 cities in 25 days to promote the service, which costs $9.99 a month and offers 100 digital radio channels. It is backed by an ad campaign, with the tagline ‘The Power of X’, from TBWA/Chiat/Day in Playa del Rey, California.

A rival service is planned by Sirius Satellite Radio, which is due to unveil launch details on Wednesday.
