SINGAPORE: Senior marketers from Unilever, Mondelēz International and Coca-Cola will join the judging panel for the Warc Prize for Asian Strategy, the annual competition to find the region's best strategic case studies.

Now in its fourth year, the free-to-enter Prize is Asia's leading showcase for smart strategic thinking in marketing, with a $10,000 prize fund for winning papers.

Chaired by Freddy Bharucha, CMO Asia at Procter & Gamble, the judging panel announced so far includes a further three senior client-side marketers as well as agency-side executives. Further details can be found on the Prize website.

The client-side is represented by Rohit Jawa, chairman and CEO of Unilever Philippines; Puneet Narang, vp marketing Asia-Pacific at Mondelēz International; and Pratik Thakar, vp Asia-Pacific for creative and content excellence at Coca-Cola.

Judges from the agency side include Rob Campbell, regional head of strategy at Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai; Chris Thomas, chairman and CEO, BBDO Asia, Middle East and Africa; Jarek Ziebinski, president of Leo Burnett Asia-Pacific; and Cheuk Chiang, CEO Asia-Pacific at Omnicom Media Group.

They join Robin Nayak, regional head of strategy at TBWA South East Asia; Frank Reitgassl, head of account planning at BBH Asia Pacific; and Shahvez Afridi, head of strategy at Grey Group Asia-Pacific and responsible for its P&G account.

Commenting on what he hopes to see from entries, Robin Nayak said: "There's too much generic marketing out there, so I'm looking for campaigns with the X-factor, work that exhibits that holy trinity of penetrating insight, original thinking and artful execution. I can't wait."

Warc will present Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for the best strategy case studies, a $5,000 Grand Prix award and five $1,000 Special Awards for cases that excel in specific areas.

The deadline for entries is 13 June 2014 and full details are available on the Prize website, including advice on how to impress the judges, interviews with former winners and judges, plus what was learned from the 2013 Prize.
