The world’s number one bricks and mortar retailer Wal-Mart yesterday relaunched its website in a third bid to make its presence felt in the online world.

The new site focuses on twelve product categories, with an emphasis on books, music, videos and electronics. There are also free e-greetings cards, a link to Southwest Airlines and a Photo Center allowing film developed at a Wal-Mart store to be posted onto the web.

Instead of a flat shipping rate for purchases, there is now a fixed fee plus a per-item charge. Savings are only made if several items are shipped.
