NEWBURY, UK: The British broadband access bandwagon rolls on with cellphone service provider Vodafone the latest to jump aboard. It has teamed up with telco giant BT - which will provide the infrastructure - to roll out Vodafone At Home from next week.
The company is looking to position itself at the 'upscale' end of the market in contrast to cheaper services from rivals such as Carphone Warehouse's TalkTalk and Sky Broadband.
It is also is looking to add television later in the year and has the rights to sell BT Vision [WARC News: 29-Nov-06]. The service combines digital terrestrial channels from Freeview, with on-demand content delivered over the phone line, including seven-day catch-up of certain channels and shows.
