Carat, CIA, OMD and Optimedia have been shortlisted for the media buying account of Vizzavi, the pan-European internet portal jointly owned by Vodafone and Vivendi.

Each of the quartet is noted, says Vizzavi chief marketing officer Guy Lawrence, both for a strong European presence and the skills necessary to work across a wide range of media.

"We intend to make Vizzavi the number one multi-access portal in Europe,” said Lawrence. “To do this, we need to build our brand presence through an ambitious and integrated pan-European media campaign to reach the eighty million customers we have access to in Europe.”

Right now Vizzavi is in pitch-happy mode, with another foursome currently vying for its creative business: Bates, BMP, D'Arcy, Publicis and WCRS.
