US media giant Viacom has wasted little time filling the vacant post of president/chief operating officer at its Infinity Broadcasting radio arm.

Late last month, the role’s incumbent John Fullam fell on his sword, resigning after Viacom boss Mel Karmazin branded Infinity’s first-quarter performance “unacceptable” [WAMN: 30-Apr-03].

Into Fullam’s shoes steps Joel Hollander, who moves from his current post as chief executive of Westwood One, an Infinity unit that broadcasts radio programming via 7,500 stations.
