One of the world's top fmcg manufacturers, Unilever, hopes to reveal its softer side as it unveils plans to improve food labelling and go green.

Throughout the UK this summer, retailers will be able to stock Wall's ice cream in Unilever-supplied environmentally-friendly freezers that are 15% more energy efficient than earlier models.

Acknowledging recent criticisms of junk food advertising, Unilever has already admitted its food could be made healthier and its food labelling has room for improvement. Now chairman Anthony Burgmans claims future Unilever ads will promote healthy eating among its consumers.
