Consumer goods colossus Unilever has signed a sponsorship deal with Mykindaplace.com, a web portal aimed at teenage girls.
Under the terms of the deal, Unilever-owned body spray Impulse will sponsor the website’s fashion section.
The move comes only months after Unilever’s own attempt at a teen-oriented site, Wowgo.com, failed after difficulties in establishing secure chatroom facilities for subscribers. Wowgo’s brand and user base was acquired by Mykindaplace in January.
The teen site already has sponsorship agreements with Superdrug.com, Orangs, SkyOne, Maybelline and GlaxoSmithKline.
