Anglo-Dutch food and household goods giant Unilever is continuing to reshape its management structure in the US.

The company, in the throes of its 'One Unilever' strategy, has announced the appointment of Mike Polk as group vp-US, reporting directly to president-Americas John Rice.

Polk (44) moves up from his role as president and vp of the North America foods unit, just two years after he joined from rival Kraft Foods.

Meanwhile, Alan Jope (41), head of the US home and personal care business, moves to the global foods brand development organization, reporting directly to London-based president-global foods Vindi Banga.

Unilever's consolidation of its US operations means Polk will oversee sales, media planning and buying and much of the brand consumer-marketing. Reporting to him will be Laura Klauberg, new senior marketing officer and vp of marketing shared services, and Lisa Klauser vp for brand building through customers.
