BELFAST, N. IRELAND - The Northern Irish TV and radio company Ulster Television attributed its rise in revenues and profits for 2005 to last year's acquisition of UK national radio company The Wireless Group.
According to ceo John McCann, pre-tax profits last year rose 11.8% to £19.6 million ($34.26m; €28.48m) on a 46% rise in sales to £92.7m.
Advertising revenue for the first quarter of 2006 is likely to be down by 8%, compared with a 13% decline at ITV - of whose UK network Ulster is an independent member.
