A promising start to the year for radio ad sales [WAMN:28-Apr-04] has been maintained, according to latest figures from the Radio Advertising Bureau.
Local ad revenue rose 5% in June, compared with the same period in 2003, resulting in an overall rise of 4% for the first half of this year.
Combined local and national revenues were up by 3% this June, the lesser figure due to the fall in national revenue of 3% compared with June 2003.
RAB's president/ceo Gary Fries, however, is confident of a turnaround at the national sector: "We anticipate activity in national to revive as the year rolls out."
