US radio adspend returned to growth in September, according to new figures from the Radio Advertising Bureau.

Total ad revenues for the medium rose 4% year-on-year following a flat performance in August. National radio advertising led the way with a 13% September surge, while local sales increased 2%.

Radio spend rose 2% year-on-year for the third quarter, and by the same margin for the first nine months of 2003.
