Ad pages in US magazines rose in November, according to the Publishers Information Bureau, bouncing back from a decline the month before.

November’s ad pages were up 6.9% year-on-year, continuing a rollercoaster trend that started in the summer. Last month’s increase follows a 0.2% dip in October, a 2.6% climb in September, a 5.8% fall in August and a 0.5% rise in July.

The overall trend this year, however, has been down, with ad pages sliding 4.5% over the first eleven months of 2002.

November’s increase reflects a rise in pages in 9 of the PIB’s twelve major advertiser categories, including media, automobiles and lodging.
