US quarterly internet adspend has hit the $2 billion mark for the first time, according to a survey from the Internet Advertising Bureau.

The Internet Ad Revenue Report, collated by PricewaterhouseCoopers, noted second quarter expenditure up 8.8% to $2.1bn on the first quarter, an uplift of 75% on Q2 1999.

This leaves first half internet adspend at $4.1bn, compared to the total 1999 expenditure of $4.6bn.
