UK electrical goods retailer Dixons has decided to cease stocking analogue radios as sales of digital counterparts soar.
The company reports that thirty digital radios are purchased for every analog model. Other products on a possible future hit list include personal CD players, under threat from the runaway success of the iconic iPod and its MP3 competitors.
Comments group MD Nick Wilkinson: "The snap, crackle and pop of the traditional wireless is rapidly being replaced with the crystal-clear sound of digital audio broadcasting."
