Online shopping in the UK is accountng for an increasing proportion of consumers' cash.
A report by market analyst Verdict shows the internet as the fastest expanding retail sector in 2004, with growth rates of 27.4%.
One in four shoppers now buy online, thanks in part to faster broadband connections and better quality goods offered by retailers.
TV shopping channels are also attracting more customers. QVC saw 15% growth last year.
Goods ordered for home delivery now account for £1 in every £7 spent, according to Verdict, the most popular products being books, music and videos. These are followed by electrical goods and clothing.
