LONDON: Digital television viewing is now present in 70.2% of UK homes, according to latest figures released by media regulator Ofcom.

The watchdog's report, The Consumer Experience, says 17.1 million households now have at least one digitally enabled TV. It also found that 26% of British homes have bought digital Freeview set-top boxes, more than twice as many as in any other country.

There has also been a 55% growth in internet users who have taken up broadband in the last 18 months.
