NEW YORK: It's 'no change' among the United States' top 100 media companies, according to the latest annual listing from Advertising Age.

Nineteen of today's top twenty made it into last year's top twenty as well. Comments AdAge: "And we thought there was a media revolution going on!"

But the ad industry bible opines that this situation will unlikely survive into 2009.

Time Warner, numero uno this year – and every year since 1995 – will shortly spin off its Time Warner Cable unit, thereby handing  the crown to number two contender Comcast.

Google, meantime, just ten years on from its incorporation, has trampled over a host of other media titans to come in at number twelve – and few doubt it will head the media centurions list inside half that timespan.
