Taste Sours for Sainsbury, Carlton

The Taste Network, a £10 million internet and digital TV joint venture backed by J Sainsbury, Britain’s second largest supermarket chain, and ITV giant Carlton Communications, has been axed after just ten months.

The initiative failed to attract adequate advertising or sales commission revenues. Despite the closure announcement, the Taste website is till up and running at www.taste.co.uk/.
