Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca has upped the coverage of its unit north of the border, Azteca America Network, to 28% of the US Hispanic market after gaining two more affiliated stations.

The group has paid $70 million for a 25% stake in each of the two new affiliates – KTNC-TV Channel 42 in San Francisco and Sacramento, and Houston’s KAZH-TV Channel 57. Both are units of California’s Pappas Telecasting, whose stations form the basis of the network.
