TIME WARNER-EMI DEAL BACK ON

News, 19 October 2000

Time Warner yesterday announced the possible resurrection of its thwarted merger with Britain's EMI.

The deal was aborted in September after an EC veto, but Time Warner president Richard Parsons said that the negotiations were continuing under an exclusivity agreement stretching to January.

“We still think intrinsically it’s a solid deal but we simply ran out of time in Europe”, Parsons added.
