Three senior admen now belong to the exclusive UK club of those earning upward of £1 million annually, according to the latest Financial Performance report from accountancy firm Willott Kingston Smith.
Heading the millionaire quartet is WPP chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell with £1.32m. Breathing down his neck is Saatchi & Saatchi boss Kevin Roberts (£1.3m), although Cordiant’s Michael Bungey lags his peers with a paltry £1.1m.
At the means-tested end of the market is Bob Offen, chief executive of Media Planning who, despite being the highest paid media specialist, scraped a mere £651,000 from the barrel.
Profits growth was led by St Luke's and M&C Saatchi, respectively achieving increases of 345% and 85%. In terms of gross income, Young & Rubicam remains Britain’s largest agency - despite a 110% fall in operating profit and recorded profit margins of only 0.29%.
