TAYLOR NELSON BUYS US RIVAL FROM VNU

Netherlands media giant VNU has sold its US subsidiary Competitive Media Reporting to UK research group Taylor Nelson Sofres for $88 million.

The Dutch publisher was forced to dispose of New York-based CMR, which specialises in advertisement tracking, by the Federal Trade Commission in return for regulatory approval for its acquisition of Nielsen Media Research.
