Cupertino, California-based computer security software specialist Symantec has handed its $15–$20 million consumer account to Ogilvy & Mather in Los Angeles, the agency responsible for its business-to-business advertising.

The award follows a four-way pitch which included the San Francisco offices of Young & Rubicam and FCB Worldwide [WAMN: 17-Jan-01].

The creative side of the account was formerly handled in-house, with media duties the responsibility of Carat Freeman in San Francisco and Newton, Massachusetts.
