National weekly newspaper Sunday Business, owned by the reclusive billionaire Barclay twins, is to undergo a makeover.
The revamped paper will launch on March 11, featuring a new magazine supplement, Business and Pleasure, edited by Topaz Amore (sic), ex-columnist on the Sunday Telegraph and Daily Express.
Additionally, there will be a new section pandering to upmarket investors which, says recently appointed editor Nils Pratley, will “combine business insights with a humorous angle on how our readers enjoy their wealth”.
Concurrent with the relaunch, Sunday Business publisher Andrew Neill has made his third agency appointment in less than a year. In comes modish West End shop M&C Saatchi, out goes Edinburgh-based Citigate Smarts which only eight months ago replaced WPP’s Conquest.
The £1.5 million launch campaign through M&CS will focus on the paper’s key areas, London and south-east England. Says Saatchi joint chief executive Nick Hurrell: “As with all newspaper launches, you only get one chance to make an impression. So the work has to stand out.”
