Barclays Bank has awarded its £22 million media planning and buying duties to Starcom Motive.

The triumphant agency fought-off pitches from Barclays roster agencies, besting Optimum Media Direction (Barclaycard) in the final round and earlier eliminating former media incumbent MediaVest and Optimedia (responsible for the bank’s Woolwich unit).

Originally launched last year, the review was terminated by Barclays in the autumn, before being resurrected in February under new head of marketing Adrian Batt [WAMN: 16 Feb-01].
