Anglo-Dutch global fmcg giant Unilever yesterday announced the appointment of Charles Strauss as president and chief executive of its US operations.
Strauss (57) retains his former responsibilities as president of Unilever Home and Personal Care, North America. He replaces Richard Goldstein who quit his post in April to take the chair at International Flavors and Fragrances.
Strauss, a Unilever board member and chairman of its North America Committee, gravitated into the group’s orbit fourteen years ago when it acquired Chesebrough-Pond's, the parent of Ragu Foods where Strauss presided.
