THE BOOMING £3 bn market in leisure and sportswear is the Next Group’s target for a dedicated sports and leisurewear catalogue due to launch next spring. Analysts predict this dynamic sector will see 20% growth by the year 2000, and retail consultancy Verdict Research hailed Next’s move as a 'good first step in building the profile of its sportwear brand', but warned that the UK retail and catalogue specialist will have its work cut out to make significant inroads on the market share of global giants like Adidas and Nike.
