The Vietnam Football League has “informally” accepted a $10 million offer from Strata, a Malaysian sports marketing company, for exclusive five year advertising rights in the nation’s soccer stadia. The deal is subject to ratification by the league’s board and does not include TV rights.

Says VFL chief executive Pham Ngoc Vien: "It will give the league a timely injection of capital as it prepares to turn semi-professional next season."

The outline agreement provides for the league to receive $2 million annually during the next five years, half of which will be divided among its ten semi-professional clubs and the rest allocated to awards, training programs and promotional activities.
