The UK contingent headed the field of non-US winners, gaining seventeen of the thirty-nine awards won by overseas agencies. As ever, the Americans dominated the event with thirty wins; Germany and Canada gained three apiece, New Zealand two, and Ireland, Singapore and Australia one each.
Tequila Payne Stracey scooped two firsts for its Nissan work, as did Craik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel for Land Rover. Other UK winners were BBH Unlimited with three awards (two for Audi UK and one for Virgin Direct); WWAV Rapp Collins (one each for Transnational, Shelter and NSPCC), Brann (Guinness); CMB (Grant Thornton); Barraclough Hall Woolston Gray (DMA UK) and One to One Direct Communications (First Direct).
The showing compares well with last year when British agencies gained thirteen winners of which only two were firsts.
