LONDON - Brewer SABMiller has made its first serious foray into the fast-growing energy drinks sector by acquiring the Sparks brand from the US-headquartered McKenzie River for $215 million (€167.8m; £116.4m) in cash.The deal also includes Steel Reserve strong lager.
The company says it hopes to use its Miller networks in the US to improve distribution of the brands, which are mostly available in urban convenience stores.
