NEW YORK: Photogenic Russian tennis ace Maria Sharapova has inked a 'lifetime endorsement' deal with Prince Sport, reputed to be worth $25 million (€19.5m; £13m) over the next ten years.
The new agreement follows the five year contract Sharapova signed with the racquet maker when she was 14. She will appears in ads, promote product lines, junior tennis programs and "grow-the-game initiatives".
The agreement will make the 19-year-old 2004 Wimbledon champion the highest paid female athlete in terms of endorsements, with an estimated total of between $20m and $25m a year.
