German newspaper sales have finally bucked their three-year stagnant trend, according to BDZV, the federal association of German newspaper publishers.

The circulation increase of 1% to €9 billion ($10.9m; £6.2m), however, has not been matched by ad revenues, which have nudged up by only 0.3% and have led BDZV president Dietmar Wolff to caution that newspaper publishers have 'no reason to celebrate' .
