Reebok, the UK-owned global sportswear brand, has signed a ten-year marketing and promotional deal with America’s National Basketball Association.
The agreement, effective from the 2004/05 season, will see the Boston, Massachusetts-headquartered company become the exclusive outfitter to all twenty-nine NBA teams. Additionally, it will market and sell NBA-branded apparel.
The contract also extends to all Women's National Basketball Association teams and those in NBA's development league. It confers on Reebok exclusive rights to design, manufacture and market NBA-licensed merchandise and apparel.
The deal will supersede those between individual NBA teams and a raft of licensees, among them Nike, Puma and Champion.
