Britain's fragmented radio industry organisations have linked to create a centralised corporate contact point housed under a single roof.
Branded The Radiocentre, the new unit represents five different radio industry bodies - the newly formed Digital Radio Development Bureau, the Commercial Radio Companies Association, the Radio Advertising Bureau, the Radio Advertising Clearance Centre and JICRIT - a unique collaboration between commercial radio companies and the advertising industry represented by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising.
Housed within the London offices of the Radio Advertising Bureau, Radiocentre aims to provide advertisers with improved training facilities, copy clearance and digital advice.
Says RAB chief executive Douglas McArthur: “Uniting the resources of these bodies in one central location is a significant step forward … it will be of great benefit to everyone to have this variety of expertise on the same floor …. advertisers should see the benefits immediately."
Points of contact for the individual bodies remain unchanged.
