In a four-way contest, the local offices of global networks Ogilvy & Mather (Culver City), Y&R Advertising (San Francisco) and FCB Worldwide (San Francisco) are challenged by an as yet unnamed shop for the estimated $15-$20 million consumer account of Symantec, the Cupertino, California-based software giant.
Symantec’s creative is currently handled inhouse with print and online media planning/buying in the hands of Carat Freeman, San Francisco and Boston. The latter business, too, may be put up for review.
The client’s total ad budget, including the consumer element, is assessed at between $40-$50 million.
