Media company Hearst-Argyle Television posted a $6.8 million Q3 loss, down from a $9.1m profit a year ago, on a 19% drop in sales to $145.2m.

Owner of 28 TV stations and two radio outlets, Hearst-Argyle said it expected a 21% fall in revenue in the fourth quarter but, despite this, forecast a modest profit.
