Paris-headquartered Publicis Groupe and Chicago’s Bcom3 Group, soon to wed, timed the release of their quarterly financials to coincide.
The results, published Tuesday, show Publicis achieving a healthy revenue growth of 4.6% at $520 million (€575.84m; £359.06m), although net of currency fluctuations and acquisitions it equates to a real life fall of 2.2%.
This was attributed to weak performance in North America – the group’s largest region – where revenues sank by 4.9% on an adjusted basis to $234.7m. European sales after adjustments were flat at $226.6m, while Asia Pacific rose 3% to $36.1m. Elsewhere on the globe, sales sagged 1.7% to $22.6m.
Bcom3 reported net income gains despite a fall in revenues. The former hit $20.5m compared with $2.57min 2001; the latter were down 0.3% to $445.7m alongside $447.2 million in the same quarter last year.
