LONDON: The acquisition of leading US new media and direct marketing agency Digitas [WARC News: 21-Dec-06] has served to fuel Publicis Groupe's appetite for similar deals.
The French advertising conglomerate's chairman/ceo Maurice Levy told a meeting in London: "Today we're about to take the lead on a worldwide stage in digital. Anything we can do to strengthen that, we will."
He also warned media owners they must "make content more relevant and leverage their brands as something that belongs to them and them only", as new consumer behaviour "is making media less relevant than a few years ago".
