Another of the global big four advertising holding companies, Paris-headquartered Publicis Groupe (fourth in the world pecking order based on 2003 revenues), posted third quarter gains on Tuesday.

Gross revenues rose 1.5% year-on-year to €932 million ($1.18bn; £643.9m) from €918m last time. Organic growth, shorn of currency fluctuations, bettered 4.8%.

According to chairman/ceo Maurice Lévy, Europe is now in growth mode, while US growth continues albeit at a slower pace. Asian adspend is also increasing.

The group reported it had won three major new accounts - all European-based - during the latest (fourth) quarter: pharma giant Aventis-Sanofi; the world's largest food company Nestlé; and automaker Renault.

Like many French incorporated companies, Publicis reports earnings and revenue separately. It will post first-half results shortly.
