Outdoor agency Metrobus, part of Publicis Groupe, has been reselected without review by Parisian public transport authority RATP to handle its $125 million advertising contract.
The prestigious ten-year contract, expiring at the end of 2011, includes the sale of ads on Parisian buses, on the walls of the city’s Metro and in a free daily newspaper. RATP chose not to view pitches from rival Parisian agencies, among them J C Decaux and Dauphin (part of Clear Channel Communications).
Metrobus, which has outdoor contracts with transport authorities in over 100 French cities and interests in Spain and Portugal, gains over two-thirds of its turnover from the RATP duties. Sales last year totalled $165m, largely from its Parisian business.
