Peugeot-Citroen UK has awarded the whole of its £75 million media account to Aegis Group-owned media agency BBJ, leaving Aegis in the unique position of servicing three major car accounts.

BBJ had been expected to split the account with sister shop Carat, which also handles BMW in Europe. However, Carat recently won the £360 million European Renault business as well.

Although Peugeot-Citroen reopened talks with several agencies in the wake of the Renault deal, the consolidation of its business with BBJ seems to mark Renault’s approval of to keep the account within aegis of Aegis.

Former incumbent Initiative is now expected to merge with Western, the shop used by Vauxhall.
