Procter & Gamble is looking to offload the Comet cleanser brand as part of the consumer goods giant’s ongoing divestiture of non-core products.

Already up for sale are P&G food lines Crisco and Jif, while the Spic and Span detergent brand was sold off earlier this year.

Comet – which brought in sales of under $100 million in 2000 – would be retained if nobody makes a suitable offer, said P&G.
