SYDNEY: Australia's biggest retailer Coles Myer says it has been approached for talks over "ownership" of the group, but ceo John Fletcher has not revealed the name of the interested party.
Industry speculation has focused on the world's biggest retailer, the US-headquartered Wal-Mart. Another name in the frame is the UK's giant supermarket chain, Tesco.
Coles Myer's annual sales rose almost 6% in 2005-06.
